Switzerland and China have set their net-zero targets for 2050 and 2060 respectively. With pressing sustainability challenges and rising complexity globally, the development of environmental, social and governance (ESG) research and ratings have accelerated, and they are going to reshape the finance industry fundamentally.
Partnering with the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chengdu, we are delighted to bring this special edition of Café des Sciences to Chengdu. We have invited Prof. Jingmei Zhao, Executive Dean of the School of Finance at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, to elaborate green finance strategies with their pros and cons, and in particular, how could sustainable finance come into being and help explore the whole process; and Mr. Shan Jiang, Senior Researcher at the Center for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability of University Zurich, Founder of SUSFINTEQ, to present their innovative system on the monitoring, analyzing and disclosing ESG record of Chinese listed companies along the Yangtze River, by applying geographic information and natural language processing technologies, as well as how to gain the real-time insights on corporate strategy, risk mitigation and portfolio optimization.
Join us to explore the topic of ESG and gain insights into the global and local ecosystem of sustainable finance from the perspectives of both national policies and the private sector.
