Maurice Obstfeld is the Class of 1958 Professor of Economics at Berkeley and a nonresident senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. In 2014-2015 he was a Member of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, and from 2015-2018 he served as chief economist at the International Monetary Fund. He is active as a research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Obstfeld教授将在讲座中对近现代国际资本流动的演化加以梳理，并着重介绍各国政府推进金融全球化的动机，以及金融全球化得以持续深化的原因。同时，Obstfeld教授将介绍金融全球化过程中各国政府面临的挑战，并将从维持金融系统稳定的视角出发，对后新冠疫情时代金融全球化的走向，以及中国政府在其中起到的重要作用加以讨论与展望。
